Retired Army Soldier Commits Murder-Suicide in Morena, Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal, Dec 10 (NationPress) In a devastating incident, a retired Army soldier is believed to have shot his wife before taking his own life in the Morena district of Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday, as reported by the police.
The occurrence took place in the early hours in Vikram Nagar town of Morena.
Authorities arrived at the scene and began investigating the murder-suicide case, which caused widespread alarm in the neighborhood.
The victims have been identified as Devendra Singh Gurjar (45) and his spouse Madhuri Gurjar (43).
Devendra's body was discovered lying in a pool of blood at their residence, while his wife succumbed to her injuries during treatment at a hospital in Gwalior.
As per police information, the couple, along with their two sons - Gaurav (16) and Saurabh (14), were residing in a two-storey house.
Devendra had constructed the house following his retirement from the Army five years ago and was working as a security guard at a warehouse in the Dhaulpur area of Morena.
During police inquiries, Gaurav and Saurabh recounted that their father awakened them at gunpoint.
Devendra even attempted to harm his sons; however, they managed to escape, according to police reports.
As Gaurav and Saurabh fled from the house, they saw their mother lying in a pool of blood. Shortly after, they heard another gunshot and rushed back to find their father deceased.
With assistance from neighbors, they took their mother to the hospital, where she was later referred to Gwalior district hospital. Unfortunately, she passed away during treatment. Meanwhile, local police were informed about the situation.
"The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, and a team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has arrived to gather evidence. A pistol used in the crime has been recovered, and further investigations are ongoing," stated Morena SP Vijay Bhadoria.
