Hyderabad, April 25 (NationPress) The Telangana Police have urged Pakistani nationals residing in the state to return to their homeland as the Indian government has announced the revocation of all valid visas effective April 27.
Dr. Jintender, the Director General of Police, stated that the Attari border will remain accessible for departures for Pakistanis until April 30. He advised all Pakistani nationals in Telangana to adhere to the guidelines to prevent any legal consequences.
In response to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which resulted in the deaths of 26 tourists and injuries to many others, the Centre decided on Wednesday to suspend visa services for Pakistani nationals immediately.
The DGP confirmed that “all existing valid visas issued to Pakistani nationals by India will be revoked as of April 27, 2025. Medical visas will remain valid only until April 29, 2025.”
The statement clarified that the visa revocation does not affect holders of Long Term Visas (LTVs) or diplomatic and official visas.
Furthermore, the Indian government has stated that Pakistani nationals will no longer be able to travel to India under the SAARC visa exemption scheme (SVES). Any Pakistani national currently in India on an SVES visa must exit within 48 hours.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has communicated with all Chief Ministers regarding the terror attack and has requested them to identify Pakistani nationals in their states.
He instructed them to inform the Centre about all Pakistani nationals to facilitate visa cancellations. Additionally, Shah urged the Chief Ministers to ensure the swift repatriation of these individuals to Pakistan.
Meanwhile, police across Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda have initiated a verification process for Pakistani nationals residing in their jurisdictions under various visas.
Reports indicate there are approximately 208 Pakistani nationals within these areas, with 156 holding long-term visas, 13 on short-term visas, and 39 visiting for medical or business reasons.
Currently, there are no Pakistani nationals with visas under the SVES.
