New Delhi, April 6 (NationPress) Eternal Limited, previously identified as Zomato, has disclosed that Rinshul Chandra, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of its food delivery operations, has stepped down from his position.
Chandra, a vital member of the company’s executive team, tendered his resignation on April 5 and will formally exit his role on April 7.
According to a statement filed with the stock exchanges, Chandra is departing to pursue new opportunities that align with his personal and professional ambitions.
"My journey over the past seven years has been immensely rewarding, and I am sincerely thankful for the confidence, backing, and opportunities afforded to me during my tenure here. I wish our exceptional teams at Eternal nothing but success," he expressed.
Chandra joined the company in 2018 as Assistant Vice President of Product and has since ascended through various significant roles, including Vice President and Head of Business, ultimately becoming the Chief Operating Officer of the food delivery segment.
However, Eternal Limited has yet to reveal who will assume his duties.
This news arrives amid a period of internal restructuring for the company. Recently, Zomato garnered attention for laying off approximately 600 customer support personnel within a year of their hiring, as reported by the media.
The company has also witnessed several high-profile departures over the last year, including Hemal Jain, the Global Head of Finance and CFO of Hyperpure, who resigned.
Additionally, Co-founder and Chief People Officer Akriti Chopra also exited. In October of the previous year, Independent Director Gunjan Soni resigned from her role.
Zomato, now rebranded as Eternal, comprises four principal business units: Zomato, Blinkit, District, and Hyperpure, under its new organizational framework.
In a communication to shareholders, the company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Deepinder Goyal clarified that the rebranding would pertain solely to the parent company and not the Zomato brand or its application.
