Excerpts:
IANS: Reflecting on your two years in office, how do you view the developmental journey in Madhya Pradesh?
Mohan Yadav: Our commitment to development is unwavering. On the occasion of Atal Ji’s anniversary, we invited the Union Home Minister, demonstrating our dedication to progress. The Bhoomi Poojan (ground-breaking ceremony) for a simultaneous Rs 2 lakh crore investment will mark a historic milestone for Madhya Pradesh. Development is a continuous journey, and we are committed to ensuring that benefits reach every corner of the state.
IANS: Job creation is a significant concern nationwide. What measures has your government implemented to foster employment?
Mohan Yadav: We have created 60,000 government jobs and facilitated employment for around two lakh individuals in the private sector. This clearly reflects our ongoing efforts to broaden opportunities and enhance livelihoods. Our strategy encompasses government recruitment and fostering an environment conducive to private sector growth and large-scale employment.
IANS: How has your government addressed Maoist issues and the rehabilitation of surrenderers?
Mohan Yadav: Our position is clear: we will rehabilitate those who surrender as per our policy and extend all eligible benefits. However, those who persist in armed opposition are met with firm action. Over the past year, we have neutralized more than ten Maoists. We will not tolerate violence in our state - that is our commitment to the public. Simultaneously, we are creating a supportive environment for those wishing to surrender and reintegrate into society.
IANS: The upcoming Simhastha Kumbh in 2028 is anticipated to be a major event. How is the state preparing?
Mohan Yadav: The Simhastha Kumbh is not merely a local gathering; it is a global festival. We are focused on how to represent ourselves on the world stage as the host of this grand religious congregation. Our preparations aim to manage the event effectively and significantly enhance religious tourism.
IANS: You frequently discuss Sanatan culture. How do you perceive its impact on Madhya Pradesh's identity and economy?
Mohan Yadav: Sanatan culture has many virtues, and I am proud to identify as a Sanatani. It transcends specific religions and connects people through values. Take Ujjain, for instance: previously, 30 to 35 lakh visitors came annually; now, following the establishment of Mahakal Lok, over seven crore people have visited. This is how we promote our values, culture, and religious tourism, which have already transformed our economy and will continue to do so. We are exploring various avenues to steadily improve our state's per capita income, ensuring prosperity for all.
