New Delhi, Nov 25 (NationPress) Chhattisgarh has attracted investment proposals totaling over Rs 6,321 crore in the industrial sector and Rs 505 crore in tourism, anticipated to generate jobs for more than 3,000 individuals, as stated by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai during an Investor Connect Meet on Tuesday.
While addressing the investors, the Chief Minister noted that Bastar is undergoing a significant transformation, with a reduction in Maoist violence alongside improvements in infrastructure, including roads, internet access, and security.
He further elaborated that Bastar is rapidly evolving into a new center for both investment and tourism, with the aim of achieving a completely Maoist-free region by March 2026.
Chief Minister Sai emphasized that Chhattisgarh ranks among India's top power-producing states and recently secured investment proposals exceeding Rs 3.5 lakh crore at the Energy Summit, with numerous projects already underway.
He highlighted that the state’s industrial policy—which provides capital and interest subsidies, electricity duty exemptions, stamp duty concessions, and customized packages for large investments—is one of the most progressive and investor-friendly in the nation.
With these latest proposals, the state has attracted investments surpassing Rs 7.90 lakh crore since the implementation of the new policy, showcasing an increase in investor confidence.
Focusing on logistical benefits, the Chief Minister pointed out that Chhattisgarh's strategic central location enhances supply chains, supported by industrial corridors, improved highways, expanded airport connectivity, and a better railway network, making the state an attractive destination for manufacturing.
In line with India's goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2070, Chhattisgarh is actively promoting sectors like green steel, green energy, and renewable energy, backed by appealing incentives. The state's geographic position on the Tropic of Cancer gives it vast solar potential.
Reinforcing Chhattisgarh's identity as a significant steel hub, the Chief Minister pointed to the established presence of Bhilai Steel Plant and Nagarjuna Steel Plant, alongside abundant iron ore reserves that foster a natural ecosystem for steel industries.
Reliable access to power and water, a skilled workforce, and a tranquil environment render the state highly attractive for investment in this sector, he remarked.
Additionally, Chief Minister Sai noted that Chhattisgarh is now experiencing swift growth in future-oriented fields such as aerospace, defense, electronics, medical devices, IT, and IT-enabled services.
Specialized steel-related industries, including auto components and medical equipment manufacturing, are also on the rise, bolstered by the new industrial policy that identifies special steel as a key focus area, with dedicated clusters being developed to support these industries.
