Hyderabad, Nov 25 (NationPress) Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar declared on Tuesday that villages in Karimnagar will receive ₹10 lakh immediately for development if they elect a BJP-backed candidate unanimously.
This announcement came right after the Telangana State Election Commission revealed that the Gram Panchayat elections will take place in three phases throughout December.
“If your village elects a BJP-supported Sarpanch unanimously in the Karimnagar Parliamentary constituency, I will personally allocate ₹10 lakh for the village’s development - with no delays or excuses,” stated Bandi Sanjay, the representative for the Karimnagar Lok Sabha constituency.
“As your Member of Parliament, I have access to MPLADS funds. You are already aware of the crores we've raised through CSR initiatives that have been invested in enhancing education and healthcare. As a Union Minister, I will secure even more central funding to bolster Panchayat development,” he posted on ‘X’.
He reminisced about the former BRS government that had pledged ₹5 lakh to unanimous Panchayats. Trusting this promise, nearly 70 villages in the Karimnagar Parliamentary area elected BRS candidates unanimously; however, not a single rupee was released by the KCR government even after five years, he claimed.
Bandi Sanjay accused the previous Congress government of making similar pledges, leading to financial hardships for the people. “Those who put their faith in Congress and BRS ended up suffering financially. Both parties are preparing to repeat the same deceit. I urge the people of Karimnagar not to be swayed by their words,” he warned.
Claiming that only the BJP brings genuine funding, the BJP leader asserted that if candidates backed by Congress or BRS accidentally win, fresh funds will not be forthcoming, and central funds may even be rerouted.
According to the notification released by the Telangana State Election Commission on Tuesday, elections are scheduled for December 11, 14, and 17, covering 12,728 posts of Sarpanchs and 1,12,242 wards.
State Election Commissioner I. Rani Kumudini stated that polling will occur from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., with counting of votes commencing the same day at 2 p.m.
A total of 1.66 crore votes in rural areas are eligible for casting their votes in these elections.
