Jammu, June 14 (NationPress) With only two weeks left until the start of the annual Amarnath Yatra, sadhus from various parts of the country have begun their arrival at the Purani Mandi Ram Mandir in Jammu, engaging in spiritual preparations for this esteemed pilgrimage.
In an interview with IANS, many sadhus conveyed their satisfaction with this year's arrangements.
“The amenities at Purani Mandi Ram Mandir have significantly improved. We have returned once again to partake in Baba Barfani’s Amarnath Yatra. While we’ve joined this sacred journey numerous times, the recent act of terrorism in Pahalgam is profoundly condemnable,” remarked one sadhu.
Another sadhu emphasized, “We request the administration to ensure robust security for all pilgrims. Devotees are arriving from not only across India but also from abroad. It is crucial for everyone’s safety.”
Several sadhus commended the Indian government’s swift response to the recent violence.
“I have been making the Amarnath Yatra since 2001. Prime Minister Modi’s decisive action through 'Operation Sindoor' is commendable. I trust that this year’s Yatra will be both safe and spiritually enriching for every devotee,” shared one pilgrim.
Another sadhu, who is on his fifth pilgrimage, expressed his concerns: “This year, devotees are apprehensive due to the Pahalgam attack, but our faith propels us forward.”
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir's Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has assured that thorough security measures are established for the safe conduct of the pilgrimage, encouraging devotees to join in large numbers without fear.
The 38-day-long Yatra is set to commence on July 3 from both the Baltal and Pahalgam routes in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district and will conclude on August 9.
To facilitate the pilgrims, the Kathua district administration has established 36 lodging centers and 6 RFID registration counters. These initiatives are designed to provide a secure and smooth experience for all participants in the sacred Amarnath Yatra 2025.
