Is the Saffron Wave Inevitable in Telangana Municipal Polls?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Hyderabad, Feb 9 (NationPress) Union Minister of State (MoS) for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar asserted on Monday that the saffron wave is unavoidable in the upcoming municipal elections in Telangana.
Responding to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, the BJP leader conveyed via social media that the saffron wave is a certainty, and the Chief Minister is well aware of this.
“His exasperated media engagement spoke volumes. It seems the CM’s narrative is being crafted in Darussalam. The discourse and political rhetoric shared by Asaduddin Owaisi and the CM are strikingly similar,” he remarked.
The MoS claimed that a significant deal was made for the Karimnagar mayoral position. “Was there not an agreement to assign the Karimnagar mayor’s position to AIMIM? The truth about who is the cobra and who is the rat-snake will be revealed once the results are announced,” he stated.
In response to Revanth Reddy’s claim that the Centre has provided nothing to Telangana over the past 12 years, Bandi Sanjay emphasized that the populace is fully aware of the contributions made by the Centre to Telangana. He accused the CM of failing to release even a single rupee in two years to municipalities, panchayats, or corporations, aside from Central funds.
“During the campaign period, constituents are candidly querying about the fate of Congress’s pledges. Municipalities were established without even fundamental civic amenities. Congress ascended to power on grandiose commitments, yet within just two years, their reality is starkly unveiled. The CM persists in making irresponsible and hollow declarations,” he asserted.
Bandi Sanjay criticized the Congress administration regarding the investigation into the phone-tapping scandal.
“There hasn’t been a single arrest made in the phone-tapping scandal. The CM lacks the fortitude to submit a counter in the Supreme Court. Why is the investigation dragging on, and why hasn’t the CM contacted the Enforcement Directorate? The CM ought to openly admit his inability to confront the KCR family. Who permitted Prabhakar Rao to evade capture due to sheer ineptitude?” he inquired, reacting to Revanth Reddy’s claim that the BJP government at the Centre has done nothing to retrieve Prabhakar Rao, the former chief of the Special Intelligence Bureau (SIB) and a principal suspect in the case.
In the meantime, state BJP president N. Ramchander Rao remarked that the incessant complaints and anxious responses from Chief Minister Revanth Reddy only unveil the Congress party’s escalating trepidation. “His remarks against Modi ji and our leaders stem from the fear of the BJP’s increasing popularity among the citizens of Telangana,” he stated in a post on X.
The BJP leader asserted that over the past 12 years, the BJP-led Central Government has allocated upwards of Rs 12 lakh crore to Telangana through a variety of schemes, infrastructure projects, welfare programs, and fund devolution.
“Yet, in spite of this undeniable backing, the Chief Minister persists in misleading the public with blatant falsehoods. This is a local body election, and instead of indulging in unfounded accusations against the Government of India, Revanth Reddy should respond to a straightforward question: What has the Congress government achieved for Telangana? - Where are the widely touted six guarantees? - Where are the commitments made in the Congress manifesto? - Why is there a lack of governance and development in our municipalities? The reality is that the Telangana Congress is rattled by the BJP’s robust performance and expanding grassroots presence in municipal elections,” Ramchander Rao added.
