Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday, 17 June inaugurated a ₹13.27 crore Horticulture Research Centre at Raiya in Jhajjar district, along with a ₹8.50 crore Seed Production Technology Centre of Excellence at Munimpur in Badli. The twin facilities are expected to equip farmers with modern agricultural technologies, advanced research support, and high-quality planting material, giving the state's horticulture sector a fresh impetus.

Key Developments at the Inauguration

Beyond the two horticulture facilities, Chief Minister Saini also inaugurated and dedicated seven additional development projects worth ₹53.60 crore on the same occasion. These include the Jhajjar Mini Secretariat and Residential Complex, new buildings for government schools across several villages, and water works projects serving Saundhi and Nimana villages. The Chief Minister said these projects would collectively strengthen education, drinking water supply, administrative services, and public amenities in the region.

New Announcements for Badli Constituency

Acting on a memorandum submitted by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national secretary Om Prakash Dhankar, Saini announced the establishment of a dedicated research centre at the Regional Centre of Excellence under Maharana Pratap Horticultural University, Karnal, with a focus on horticultural produce and medicinal plants specific to Jhajjar district.

On the healthcare front, a modern 50-bed hospital will be constructed in Badli village, and ₹1 crore has been earmarked for a Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Bupania village. A model sports stadium will also come up in Bhindawas village.

For road infrastructure, ₹52 crore will be spent on renovating 70 km of roads under the Public Works Department (PWD), while ₹15 crore will go toward upgrading 25 roads under the Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board. A separate ₹30 crore has been approved for converting the northern bypass of Badli village into a four-lane road.

Israeli Ambassador Among Distinguished Guests

The event drew notable attendees, including Israeli Ambassador to India Reuven Azar and his wife Rachel Azar, Haryana Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana, BJP national secretary Om Prakash Dhankar, and First Secretary at the Israeli Embassy Sara Olga. The presence of the Israeli envoy is noteworthy given India-Israel cooperation in agricultural technology, an area where Haryana has historically drawn on Israeli expertise in drip irrigation and precision farming.

Tribute to Maharana Pratap

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Saini noted that the event coincided with the birth anniversary of Maharana Pratap, paying tribute to the warrior king's legacy of courage, self-respect, sacrifice, and determination. 'His ideals continue to inspire people to face challenges with confidence and resilience,' Saini said. He also reiterated his commitment to accelerating infrastructure, healthcare, education, sports, irrigation, and rural development across the Badli Assembly constituency.

With a cumulative outlay running into hundreds of crores across agriculture, roads, health, and education, Wednesday's event signals a concentrated push by the Saini government to consolidate its development footprint in Jhajjar ahead of the region's evolving political landscape.
