Sanjay Raut: Accusations Against Uddhav Thackeray Disrespect Balasaheb and Maharashtra

Mumbai, Jan 13 (NationPress) Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut expressed his discontent on Monday regarding Union Home Minister Amit Shah's remarks that branded Uddhav Thackeray as a traitor during a BJP gathering, asserting that such statements are a disgrace to the legacy of Balasaheb Thackeray and the state of Maharashtra.

“Neither Uddhav Thackeray nor the Shiv Sena has engaged in any form of treachery. It is the BJP that has instigated betrayal. Amit Shah’s remarks targeting Balasaheb Thackeray's Shiv Sena, and labeling Uddhav Thackeray as a traitor, represent a profound insult to the Hindu Hriday Samrat and to the pride of Maharashtra. To endorse such statements is utterly disgraceful,” Raut asserted.

Raut's comments were a direct response to Shah’s assertion that the Maharashtra Assembly elections had put an end to the “politics of betrayal” that allegedly began with Sharad Pawar in 1978 and was perpetuated by Uddhav Thackeray in 2019 through his alliance with the Congress and NCP to form a government.

In defense of NCP leader Sharad Pawar, Raut stated, “Sharad Pawar has devoted his life to public service and has received the prestigious Padma Vibhushan. The Maharashtra BJP must clarify if they support such severe criticism of a revered leader from the Union Home Minister. Outsiders, regardless of their stature, should not come to Maharashtra to demean leaders like Sharad Pawar and Uddhav Thackeray. Figures like Balasaheb Thackeray and Pawar have contributed immensely to the pride of our state. Those who applaud such insults should be filled with shame.”

Raut further accused the BJP of exploiting the theme of betrayal for their own advantage. “The BJP has allied with those labeled as traitors and now seeks to lecture others on betrayal. They are the ones endorsing dishonesty and unconstitutional measures in our nation,” he claimed.

Commenting on the tragic murder of Massajog sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh in Beed district, Raut pointed out that the main architect behind the crime has not been charged under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA), unlike the eight others who have been apprehended.

“The mastermind’s superior is part of the Maharashtra cabinet. I want to remind Amit Shah that governing with the assistance of criminals is the true betrayal of Maharashtra,” he remarked.

Addressing the viability of the INDIA bloc, especially amid tensions between AAP and Congress in Delhi and Shiv Sena (UBT) opting to contest local elections separately, Raut stressed the importance of solidarity.

“The INDIA bloc must grow stronger. The genuine crisis confronting our nation is represented by Modi and Shah. Our Constitution is under siege. Shiv Sena (UBT) is resolute that the alliance should remain robust and united,” he concluded.
