Maharashtra's Voters Reject Betrayal Politics of Sharad Pawar and Uddhav Thackeray: Amit Shah

Shirdi, Jan 12 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah remarked on Sunday that the resounding triumph of the BJP-led MahaYuti in Maharashtra has successfully realigned the nation’s politics, effectively putting a stop to the politics of betrayal engaged in by Sharad Pawar and Uddhav Thackeray.
Maharashtra experienced political instability from 1978 to 2024, but this time, BJP workers have facilitated the establishment of a stable government, the Home Minister noted.
“You have sent a clear message to those who opposed Hindutva and the development agenda of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The true Shiv Sena and genuine nationalists emerged victorious in the Assembly elections. You have turned your backs on those who indulged in dynasty politics,” he emphasized while addressing a state party gathering to commemorate the significant win of the BJP-led MahaYuti in the Assembly elections.
At the outset of his address, HM Shah directed his criticism towards Sharad Pawar and Uddhav Thackeray. “Sharad Pawar rebelled in 1978, and the people of Maharashtra have taught him a lesson for his betrayal politics during that era. Following that, Uddhav Thackeray also betrayed us in 2019. He turned away from the principles of Balasaheb Thackeray. You have shown Uddhav Thackeray his rightful place in the Assembly elections,” he stated.
The Home Minister praised the party workers for their efforts and contributions to the BJP’s overwhelming victory. “The true architects of this monumental success are the BJP workers. I salute each of you. I also express my gratitude to the people of Maharashtra on behalf of BJP workers. You have delivered a resounding slap to those who engage in dynasty politics and deceitful practices, sending them home. The people of Maharashtra have decided that Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena represents Balasaheb Thackeray's vision, and Ajit Pawar's NCP is the genuine NCP,” he remarked.
“It is well known that our party's strength lies in its organization. The cornerstone of our electoral success is our robust organization. Our booth workers are our commanders. I want to convey to my workers that the chain of development is only achievable when you raise the saffron flag from the Panchayat to the Parliament -- BJP from the Panchayat to the Parliament, BJP in Maharashtra and BJP in the nation. The BJP tradition is to act on our promises,” Shah asserted.
He commended the state unit chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule for his leadership during the elections and the party's outstanding performance.
HM Shah urged party workers to continue their hard work and dedication to maintain the winning streak of the BJP-led MahaYuti in the forthcoming local and civic body elections, defeating the Maha Vikas Aghadi. “Our objective is BJP from Panchayat to Parliament, and for that, the BJP-led MahaYuti must secure every seat to ensure the crushing defeat of the Maha Vikas Aghadi,” he stated.
“We have fulfilled numerous promises, whether it be constructing the Ram temple in Ayodhya, revoking Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, providing housing for 4 crore underprivileged families, or ensuring access to electricity, water, and health security. We will eradicate left-wing extremism by April 2026,” Shah declared.
Shah praised Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who led the party to a grand triumph in Maharashtra, asserting that he will work to fulfil a range of promises made to the state's populace, including making Maharashtra drought-free within five years.
He criticized Sharad Pawar, stating that despite his long association with agriculture, including roles as Agriculture Minister and Chief Minister, the state continues to suffer from drought and farmer suicides. “In the third term, with the support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Devendra Fadnavis will ensure water availability on every farm,” he asserted.
HM Shah indicated that the BJP-led NDA is gaining strength while the INDI Alliance is beginning to fragment. He projected a monumental victory for the BJP in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, encouraging party cadres to be prepared for a grand celebration on February 8.
