Uncommon Camaraderie Exhibited Between Uddhav Thackeray and Devendra Fadnavis

Nagpur, Dec 17 (NationPress) Following a contentious battle and heated exchanges during the recent Assembly elections, Shiv Sena-UBT leader Uddhav Thackeray met with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at Vidhan Bhavan on Tuesday to congratulate him on the MahaYuti's success.

Accompanied by his son, former minister Aaditya Thackeray, and party legislators, Thackeray spent a brief period in the Chief Minister's chamber, presenting him with a bouquet and wishing him a successful tenure. The atmosphere was surprisingly light, showcasing a rare camaraderie between Thackeray and Fadnavis.

"I expressed my congratulations to Fadnavis on assuming the role of Chief Minister and also acknowledged MahaYuti's success in the state Assembly. Maharashtra has a rich tradition of constructive dialogue among leaders from both the ruling and opposition parties. I also expressed my hope that under his leadership, Maharashtra will continue to advance," Thackeray stated.

Thackeray also took the opportunity to meet Rahul Narwekar, the Speaker of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, congratulating him on his election.

He made it clear that there was nothing political about his meeting with the Chief Minister.

Before the Assembly elections, Thackeray had fiercely criticized Fadnavis, comparing him to an “insignificant dhekun (bed bug)” and emphasizing the need to "rid ourselves of it." In another public gathering, Uddhav referred to him as a “tarbuz (watermelon)” that should be disposed of in potholes.

Fadnavis retaliated, suggesting that something seemed to have affected Uddhav Thackeray's health and expressed wishes for his quick recovery.

Recently, Thackeray had targeted Fadnavis by stating, “Either you will remain, or I will.” However, after assuming office on December 5, Fadnavis played down Thackeray's comments, remarking, “Both are in politics.”
