Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Monday, 25 May welcomed the release of commemorative postage stamps honouring Raja Bhoj and Rani Kamalapati, calling it a meaningful recognition of India's civilisational heritage and Madhya Pradesh's historical legacy. 'Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is giving new recognition and respect to its cultural heritage and historical legacy with the mantra of Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi,' Scindia stated. He added that issuing the stamps aligns with the Centre's broader programme of reviving and celebrating India's historical and cultural landmarks.

Who Are Raja Bhoj and Rani Kamalapati

Raja Bhoj, the celebrated Paramara ruler of central India, is remembered across centuries for his contributions to administration, literature, architecture and education. His reign is widely regarded as a high point of medieval Indian governance and scholarly culture. Rani Kamalapati, an iconic figure in the history of Bhopal, is commemorated for her courage, leadership and enduring contribution to the region's heritage. The Bhopal railway station was renamed in her honour in 2021, underscoring the continuing political and cultural salience of her legacy.
