New Delhi, Sep 25 (NationPress) The Minister of State for External Affairs, Kirti Vardhan Singh, officially launched the 2nd SCO Young Authors’ Conference in New Delhi on Thursday. During the event, he engaged with enthusiastic youth from the SCO nations, highlighting the organization’s increasing significance in promoting cultural and people-to-people connections.
In a message shared on X, the minister remarked, "I am pleased to inaugurate the 2nd SCO Young Authors’ Conference in New Delhi today. I interacted with dynamic young thinkers from SCO countries and emphasized the Organisation’s escalating importance in fostering cultural and interpersonal ties. I applaud the efforts of National Book Trust, India for cultivating this platform for creativity and dialogue."
This conference is taking place in New Delhi from September 25-26, with the theme ‘Dynamics of Creative Spaces in the Digital Age: A Dialogue Among SCO Young Authors’. The aim of the SCO Young Authors’ Conference 2025 is to investigate how digital environments are redefining knowledge, teaching methods, and literary culture for young authors, especially within the context of the SCO nations.
Organized by the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the National Book Trust, India, this event seeks to unite young scholars and authors under the age of 40 from SCO member states to facilitate meaningful exchanges.
The inaugural edition of the SCO Young Authors’ Conference was previously conducted under India’s chairmanship in New Delhi in 2023, focusing on ‘Civilizational Dialogue Among SCO Member-States’.
Throughout the two-day conference, participants will discuss how various societies and nations within the SCO embrace contemporary changes while safeguarding their cultural heritage. Through discussions and interactive sessions, the conference aims to amplify the voices of a new generation engaged in literature, art, and media across SCO nation-states, fostering a cross-cultural exchange.
Representatives from 24 authors below the age of 40 from countries including India, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Belarus, and Iran will attend, as noted by the National Book Trust. Each conference session will feature a distinguished scholar as Chairperson along with various discussants.
The SCO is a permanent intergovernmental international organization established in Shanghai on June 15, 2001, comprising member states: China, Russia, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Iran, and Belarus.
