Jaipur, March 4 (NationPress) The intensive search for the accused Subodh Agarwal, along with others, is ongoing at a rapid pace across several states.
As of March 4, this operation has now reached its 16th day, having commenced on February 17, 2026. A total of 40 specialized search teams have been organized for this effort.
These teams are composed of senior police officials, including Additional Superintendents of Police, Deputy Superintendents of Police, Police Inspectors, and various other officers.
The entire operation is under the close watch of Deputy Inspectors General of Police and Superintendents of Police, ensuring effective coordination and prompt action.
Thorough searches have been executed at over 100 locations across nearly 21 cities in Rajasthan and other states.
Notable locations involve Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Nagaur, New Delhi, Chandigarh, Faridabad, Noida, Meerut, Prayagraj, and Mumbai, along with numerous neighboring towns.
Searches have taken place at the residences of the accused, properties belonging to family members and associates, farmhouses, apartments, hotels, and other suspected hideouts.
These include sites in C-Scheme, Nirman Nagar, Manyawas, and Bajaj Nagar Extension in Jaipur; Defence Colony and New Moti Bagh in New Delhi; Sector 39 in Faridabad; Sohna in Haryana; and Malabar Hill and Juhu in Mumbai, among various others.
Approximately 50 individuals have been interrogated thus far, including close relatives, friends, domestic help, drivers, and those suspected of harboring the accused. Additionally, four individuals allegedly involved in assisting the accused have been taken in for in-depth questioning.
A detailed technical investigation is also underway. Authorities are analyzing CCTV footage and other digital evidence from residences and associated properties across five major cities.
The authorities in Rajasthan have ramped up operations related to the alleged Jal Jeevan Mission scam, leading to continuous arrests.
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Enforcement Directorate (ED), and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) are probing this case, which first emerged in June 2023 following the initiative of Rajasthan Agriculture Minister Kirodi Lal Meena.
Approximately 20 individuals have been implicated in the alleged scam, which includes several serving and retired officials and engineers.
The ACB has executed raids at nearly 15 locations in Delhi, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand. During these operations, 10 suspects were arrested, including one apprehended in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh.
A key figure associated with this case is former IAS officer Subodh Agarwal. However, the ACB has yet to locate him. A lookout notice has been issued against Agarwal to prevent him from leaving the country, a common procedure when there are concerns that an accused individual may attempt to flee abroad.
On February 17, ACB teams carried out searches at Agarwal’s residences in Delhi and Jaipur, but he was not found at either site.
According to officials, he allegedly left his home around 9 p.m. and turned off his mobile phone. Since then, there has been no information regarding his current location.
