Jaipur, Dec 29 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Bhajan Lal Sharma, emphasized that achieving total self-reliance in the water sector stands as a prime objective for the state government.

To meet this goal, the government has launched numerous significant water and irrigation projects since its inception, aimed at ensuring sufficient water supply throughout the state.

Sharma instructed officials to accelerate progress on the Ramjal Setu Link Project along with other ongoing initiatives.

During a recent review meeting at the Chief Minister’s Office, he stated that the government is fully committed to providing an uninterrupted water supply for both the public and farmers. All water development and irrigation projects should be executed on time through consistent oversight.

The Chief Minister pointed out that water is a crucial element for the overall advancement of the state.

In light of this, the government has made several pivotal decisions to bolster water sources, boost storage capacity, and enhance water management systems. He highlighted that the Ramjal Setu Link Project will be instrumental in guaranteeing an uninterrupted water supply to a vast segment of the state's population.

During the meeting, representatives from the Water Resources Department informed the Chief Minister that among the three ongoing projects valued at roughly Rs 9,400 crore, the work on the coffer dam and drainage channels for both the Ramgarh Barrage and Mahlpur Barrage has been finalized.

Current efforts are focused on the aqueduct spanning the Chambal River, which aims to channel water from the Navnera Barrage to the Bisalpur and Isarda dams, alongside the Mej-Galwa and Galwa-Isarda-Bisalpur feeder systems.

Additionally, it was reported that five new projects under the Ramjal Setu initiative, estimated to cost around Rs 14,600 crore, will commence shortly. These projects include connections from Bisalpur to Mor Sagar in Ajmer, Isarda to Bandh Baretha in Bharatpur, Isarda to Ramgarh in Jaipur, Khura Chainpura to Jaisamand in Alwar, and the Brahmani Barrage.

The Chief Minister also provided essential directives regarding other ongoing water resource projects, with senior officials from the Water Resources Department and the Chief Minister’s Office in attendance during the meeting.
