Jaipur, March 30 (NationPress) Severe rain, hailstorms, and dust storms impacted numerous regions in Rajasthan on Monday, attributed to the effects of an active Western Disturbance.

Kota experienced heavy rainfall together with hail during the afternoon hours.

Rainfall was also noted in Ajmer, Sri Ganganagar, Bikaner, Hanumangarh, Churu, and Nagaur districts. Jaisalmer faced a dust storm, while cloud cover remained extensive over areas like Jaipur and Jodhpur.

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for four districts: Bundi, Kota, Alwar, and Bharatpur, and a yellow alert for twelve districts including Jaipur, Dausa, Hanumangarh, Jhalawad, and Bhilwara, warning of thunderstorms, rainfall, and strong winds. Isolated dust storms are also anticipated.

According to Met officials, a cyclonic circulation has formed over western Rajasthan and surrounding regions due to the Western Disturbance.

Consequently, areas in Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ajmer, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Udaipur, and Kota divisions can expect thunderstorms, dust storms (with wind speeds ranging from 40–50 km/h), and fluctuating light to moderate rainfall.

On Tuesday, light to moderate rainfall is predicted in parts of the Shekhawati region, as well as within Jaipur, Bharatpur, and Kota divisions. The weather is expected to remain predominantly dry from April 1–2, although isolated drizzle or thunderstorms may occur, and from April 3–5, another active Western Disturbance could contribute to further rain and storm activities across the state.

Farmers are urged to take proactive measures to protect their crops and produce, such as covering or relocating harvest-ready crops from exposed fields and safeguarding grains stored in mandis and open areas from potential rain damage.

This ongoing weather phenomenon is expected to provide temporary relief from rising temperatures, although it may also lead to localized disruptions. Residents should stay vigilant and adhere to official advisories during this time, officials caution.

The issued warnings from the Meteorological Department are a call for residents and farmers to take necessary precautions.
