Synopsis
A compound wall collapse in Bengaluru on Wednesday, 29 April claimed seven lives, including two tourists from Kerala, a child, and four roadside vendors, after heavy rain battered the city. Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar visited Bowring Hospital on Wednesday night to meet the injured and described the tragedy as one that should never have occurred.
What Happened at Commercial Street

Among the deceased were Latha and Sruthi, both of whom worked in a nutrition-related organisation. The identity of one victim remains unconfirmed. Three injured persons — Preethi, Shaija, and Shiju — are currently recovering at Bowring Hospital.
