Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Sunday, 17 May inaugurated the Million Minds Tech Park and the Ganesh Real Estate Management Institute in Ahmedabad, marking a significant push to position Gujarat as a leading global hub for services and technology. The twin launches, held along the Ahmedabad-GIFT City-Gandhinagar high-growth corridor, are expected to generate more than 70,000 high-skilled jobs.

What the Tech Park Offers

Spread across nearly 65 acres near Vaishnodevi Circle, the Million Minds Tech Park will house Grade-A office spaces, residential facilities, retail and hospitality infrastructure. The park is designed to drive research, innovation and development in advanced sectors including Artificial Intelligence (AI), robotics and semiconductors, creating thousands of highly skilled employment opportunities for Gujarat's youth.

Notably, the project is positioned at the intersection of three of the state's fastest-growing economic zones — Ahmedabad, GIFT City and Gandhinagar — a corridor that has attracted sustained domestic and foreign investment over the past decade.

What the Government Said

Addressing the gathering, Shah said Gujarat will take the lead in technology just as it has led the nation since Independence. He framed the two projects as giving fresh momentum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of transforming Gujarat from a manufacturing hub into a leading global centre for services and technology. Shah expressed his aim of placing Gujarat among the top three states in the service sector.

On the Ganesh Real Estate Management Institute, Shah said the institution would bring professionalism and modernisation to the real estate sector through modern urban planning, technology-oriented courses and training aligned with global standards.

Chief Minister's Vision for Gujarat 2.0

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel described the state as entering a new phase of development driven by IT, innovation and a technology-based economy. He said the dream of 'Gujarat 2.0' is becoming a reality through sectors such as the digital economy, AI, semiconductors, Global Capability Centres (GCC) and knowledge-based services.

Patel credited the state government's IT and GCC policies, along with Central Government support, for positioning Gujarat's IT sector for rapid growth. He highlighted that GIFT City is emerging as a global financial and technology ecosystem, while a semiconductor ecosystem is developing in Sanand and the Dholera Special Investment Region.

Infrastructure Backdrop: Ahmedabad-Dholera Rail Link

Chief Minister Patel also thanked Prime Minister Modi for approving the country's first semi-high-speed rail project between Ahmedabad and Dholera, to be built at an estimated cost of ₹20,000 crore. He said this modern infrastructure would play a crucial role in attracting investments from across India and abroad.

This comes amid a broader Gujarat infrastructure push that includes the Dholera Special Investment Region and GIFT City, both of which are being positioned as anchors of the state's next growth phase. With the tech park now inaugurated, attention turns to timelines for tenant onboarding, job creation milestones and the institute's first academic intake.
