Patna, Nov 19 (NationPress) Following the remarks made by RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat that anyone who feels "pride in Bharat" identifies as a Hindu, BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain expressed his support on Wednesday, asserting that India is fundamentally a Hindu Rashtra in its cultural context.
This statement comes after Bhagwat, during a discussion in Guwahati, emphasized that the term "Hindu" transcends mere religion, embodying a civilizational identity with roots in thousands of years of cultural continuity.
He stated, "Bharat and Hindu are interchangeable. India does not require an official proclamation to be a 'Hindu Rashtra'; its civilizational spirit inherently represents it," remarked the RSS chief, whose organization serves as the ideological backbone of the BJP.
In an interview with IANS, Shahnawaz Hussain affirmed, "Indeed, it is accurate that India is a Hindu Rashtra. We take pride in residing in a Hindu Rashtra. While many refer to it as such, the nation operates under the Constitution, ensuring equal rights for all. Hindus constitute the majority, and the world acknowledges the harmonious coexistence of diverse communities in India."
As Bihar's Chief Ministerial swearing-in ceremony approaches, the BJP national spokesperson shared, "Today, we had a meeting with BJP legislators, succeeded by a JD(U) assembly and then an NDA meeting. The citizens of Bihar have endorsed this government. I have previously stated that we would secure up to 200 seats. The public is content, and the swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for tomorrow. Tejashwi Yadav has acquired two additional seats than anticipated."
Earlier, Nitish Kumar was unanimously chosen as the leader of the Janata Dal (United) legislative party. This decision confirms his oath-taking as Chief Minister on November 20 at the historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna.
This occasion marks a significant milestone as Nitish Kumar embarks on his tenth term as Chief Minister, signifying his longstanding impact on Bihar's political landscape. Over the years, he has been pivotal in coalition politics and is viewed as one of the state's most seasoned administrators.
All JD(U) MLAs attended Wednesday's meeting, conveying a robust message of unity and confidence in Nitish Kumar's leadership. Senior party members stressed that Bihar requires stable and decisive governance, which they believe Nitish Kumar is best suited to deliver.
Nitish Kumar has also hinted at revealing a new developmental strategy with innovative schemes and policies in the upcoming months, leveraging the state's evolving political landscape.
