Shiromani Akali Dal to Present Evidence to Governor Regarding Sukhbir Badal's Assassination Attempt

Chandigarh, Dec 7 (NationPress) Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia announced that a party delegation intends to meet with Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria to present videographic proof, including CCTV footage from the Sri Darbar Sahib complex, which allegedly indicates that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government facilitated a murderous attack on Sukhbir Badal.

Majithia informed the press that the party would also demand the filing of cases against Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar and Superintendent of Police Harpal Singh Randhawa, among others, who reportedly allowed Babbar Khalsa International operative Narayan Singh Chaura to approach Sukhbir Badal and attempt to assassinate him by firing at close range.

He emphasized that the AAP government is engaging in dangerous event management practices that could severely impact the peace and communal harmony in the state.

“We firmly believe that AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal is directly orchestrating these efforts to disrupt the state's atmosphere, with Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann carrying out his directives,” he stated.

In an extensive presentation, Majithia unveiled CCTV footage from the Sri Darbar Sahib complex, which apparently implicates Superintendent of Police Randhawa as he was observed greeting the assailant Narayan Chaura in the complex, shaking hands with him, and whispering in the militant's ear.

The Akali leader also showcased footage depicting attempts to isolate Sukhbir Badal while he was participating in ‘sewa’ in the ‘langar’ hall, by pushing back youth leader Parambans Romana and other supporters of Badal.

“This clearly indicates that the police officer was acting according to a predetermined script aimed at fulfilling Narayan Chaura's objectives,” he asserted.

Additional footage revealed how Chaura conducted thorough reconnaissance of the Sri Darbar Sahib on both December 3 and 4. On December 4, Chaura ascended and descended the stairs leading to Sri Harmandar Sahib multiple times over two hours, attempting to approach Sukhbir Badal from behind.

Moreover, it was shown how Chaura was assisted by an undercover policeman who directed him toward Sukhbir Badal's location. “Ultimately, after two hours, Chaura exited to a washroom outside the complex, presumably to prepare his semi-automatic pistol, before being permitted to approach Sukhbir Badal and open fire,” he explained.

Majithia questioned Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Bhullar about the effectiveness of the 175 security personnel he had reportedly assigned to Sri Darbar Sahib on December 3 and 4, stating, “According to the protocols for Z-plus security category protectees, the state police is expected to monitor individuals who pose a potential threat to the protectee.”

Narayan Chaura was included on this list, yet the Amritsar police permitted him unrestricted movement within the Sri Darbar Sahib complex. The reasons for this oversight must be investigated, ideally through a high court-monitored inquiry, to ensure that all police officials complicit with anti-national elements face appropriate consequences,” he concluded.
