Gandhinagar, Dec 9 (NationPress) The tourism sector in Gujarat is achieving a remarkable global standard with the stunning transformation of Shivrajpur Beach in Devbhumi Dwarka, now recognized as the state’s inaugural Blue Flag certified beach, as announced by officials on Tuesday.

This prestigious international certification not only strengthens Gujarat’s coastal identity but also showcases the state’s unwavering dedication to fostering world-class, sustainable, and modern tourism facilities.

In alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Dekho Apna Desh,” the development of Shivrajpur Beach illustrates Gujarat’s ambitious drive to offer an international-standard beach experience right within India.

Located along Gujarat’s extensive 2,340-km coastline, Shivrajpur Beach has been celebrated for its pristine environment, natural serenity, and safety.

The Blue Flag status propels it into the ranks of the world’s best beaches, acknowledging exceptional standards of environmental management, safety measures, and sustainable facilities aimed at tourists.

Developed by the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Ltd. (TCGL) with a significant investment of Rs 130 crore, Shivrajpur has become a model for coastal development.

This achievement will be prominently highlighted at the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) in Rajkot, where the Kutch-Saurashtra coastal and cultural tourism circuit will unveil an extensive investment plan for the first time.

The beach now boasts an extensive array of modern amenities that greatly enhance the visitor experience.

These features include a cutting-edge arrival plaza, a dedicated snorkeling area, well-developed cycling paths, and a picturesque promenade. Vital infrastructure, such as a sludge treatment facility and a newly constructed 11-km access road, has further improved connectivity and sustainability.

To ensure the comfort and convenience of tourists, the beach is also equipped with changing and shower facilities, plus a children’s play area, making it an attractive family-oriented destination.

Upcoming attractions, such as the planned Beach Festival and themed coastal events, aim to establish Shivrajpur as a global hub for beach tourism and cultural festivities.

Meanwhile, the Dwarka-Okha Urban Development Authority is crafting a comprehensive tourism strategy for Dwarka, Bet Dwarka, and Shivrajpur—an initiative anticipated to transform the entire region into a significant tourism and investment center.

Prominent domestic and international investors, along with key strategic partners, will be invited to explore various high-yield prospects across the Kutch-Saurashtra tourism circuit. These include the development of luxury coastal resorts in Devbhumi Dwarka, large-scale water sports and adventure tourism initiatives, as well as eco-tourism and heritage hospitality projects throughout the culturally rich Kutch-Saurashtra region.

The area also presents promising opportunities for forest-based tourism in the Gir landscape and vibrant cultural and experiential tourism projects throughout the Rann, collectively positioning the region as one of India’s most appealing emerging tourism investment destinations.

The Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC), scheduled for January 10-12, 2026, in Rajkot, is poised to be a pivotal moment for coastal tourism development in the area.

With Shivrajpur’s transformation as the flagship example, the Gujarat government aims to highlight the extensive investment potential throughout the Kutch-Saurashtra circuit.

With Shivrajpur Beach emerging as Gujarat’s new symbol of global tourism, the state is set to present its coastal aspirations on the international stage—ushering in a new era of sustainable tourism, premier experiences, and transformative investments across western India.
