Four police personnel, including the Ramgarh Police Station Station House Officer (SHO), have been suspended in Jammu and Kashmir's Samba district over allegations of facilitating a compromise in a case registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The disciplinary action was ordered on Saturday, 6 June by Samba Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anuj Kumar, signalling what officials described as a zero-tolerance stance on lapses in crimes against children.

SSP Anuj Kumar ordered the suspension of all four personnel following complaints about the manner in which the sensitive POCSO case was allegedly handled. According to official sources, the allegations centre on attempts to facilitate a compromise in a matter that mandates strict legal procedure and victim protection.

In a related move, a Special Police Officer (SPO) has been transferred to the Goran Police Station. The transfer is being seen as part of the broader corrective action initiated by the district police leadership.
