Bihar: Two Officers Dismissed in East Champaran, Pay of 60 Personnel Halted

Patna, Dec 10 (NationPress) Swarn Prabhat, the Superintendent of Police (SP) of East Champaran, has taken decisive action by suspending two officers and withholding the salaries of 60 personnel following significant lapses discovered in their duties on Tuesday.

The SP has suspended Harpur police station SHO Vishwajeet Kumar and Additional SHO Ravi Raj of the city police station. The salaries of 60 personnel, which include inspectors, sub-inspectors, and constables from the city police station, have been withheld due to their negligence.

SHO Vishwajeet Kumar was suspended for his inability to properly enforce the liquor law.

In addition, Ravi Raj was suspended following findings from a recent operational review that highlighted his negligence.

Kishan Paswan, the Additional SHO from Banjaria police station, has been appointed as the new SHO of Harpur police station, taking over from the suspended Vishwajeet Kumar.

All personnel from the City Police Station have received show-cause notices, with their salaries on hold pending further investigation.

“The suspension and the hold on salaries were based on the findings from a review meeting of the police stations. The personnel were found lacking in executing warrants, attachments, and proclamations, which are essential for upholding law and order,” Prabhat stated.

Prabhat further mentioned that investigations against the implicated police personnel are currently in progress.

“Show cause notices have been issued to them, and if their responses are not satisfactory, we will initiate further departmental action against them,” he added.
