Bhopal, July 22 (NationPress) In a major administrative shake-up following Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s prominent overseas trip to Spain and Dubai, the Madhya Pradesh government has transitioned IAS officer Sibi Chakraborty M out of the Chief Minister’s office.
This decision, announced late Tuesday night, signifies a critical change in the power dynamics within the CM’s office, particularly after the recent appointment of Neeraj Mandloi as Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister.
Chakraborty, a 2008-batch IAS officer, had been functioning as Secretary to the Chief Minister, a position he took on earlier this year after succeeding Bharat Yadav.
Additionally, he held the role of Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh Bhawan Vikas Nigam, a state-run infrastructure development agency.
With this latest directive, Chakraborty has been relieved from his duties at the CM’s office and will now focus entirely on his role as managing director of Bhawan Vikas Nigam.
This move aligns with Dr. Yadav’s recent overseas investment tour, which attracted over Rs 11,000 crore in proposals from Dubai and Spain across various sectors, including AI-ready data centres, defence manufacturing, and food processing.
The timing of this reshuffle has led to speculation regarding internal realignments within the Chief Minister’s core team, possibly aimed at optimizing the implementation of the new investment strategy.
No successor for Chakraborty has been appointed in the CM Secretariat. Nevertheless, IAS officer Ilaiya Raja T continues to serve as Secretary, while Alok Kumar Singh remains as Additional Secretary.
The lack of a new appointee hints at a temporary consolidation of roles within the current team. Neeraj Mandloi’s promotion to Additional Chief Secretary earlier this month was perceived as a strategic initiative, given his concurrent responsibilities in the Energy and Public Service Management departments.
This reshuffle follows the transfer of Rajesh Rajora to the Narmada Valley Development Authority. The changes reflect the shifting administrative focus of the Yadav government, which is increasingly prioritizing global investments, infrastructure growth, and bureaucratic efficiency.
