Bengaluru, Nov 24 (NationPress) In light of the ongoing leadership dispute, Karnataka's Chief Minister Siddaramaiah emphasized that he will remain in his position if that is the directive from the high command.
On Monday, he reiterated his commitment to adhere to the high command's decisions.
This statement comes after CM Siddaramaiah previously declared his intent to serve the full five-year term and take responsibility for upcoming budgets.
Siddaramaiah had a substantial meeting with AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge on Saturday night in Bengaluru.
When addressing reporters in Chikkaballapur on Monday regarding power-sharing negotiations and potential leadership shifts, he stated, “The ultimate decision on all matters will be made by the high command. I will follow their orders. If they prefer me to stay as Chief Minister, I will do so. My actions will align with the high command's instructions.”
“We will respect the high command's verdict. Our high command is decisive. If it decides that I should continue, then I will. Ultimately, both D.K. Shivakumar and I must comply with the high command's choices,” he added.
“A few months ago, I approached the high command about a cabinet reshuffle. They instructed me to execute it then, but I recommended waiting until two and a half years had passed. Now, I will comply with their directives,” he stated.
When queried about the possibility of Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar succeeding him, Siddaramaiah replied, “Why do you ask this when I have already indicated that I will follow the high command’s decision?”
“The BJP is synonymous with deceit. Do you realize how much we've invested in guarantees? Over Rs 1 lakh crore in just two and a half years. I have consistently said that we will uphold our commitments. True to our word, we have delivered,” Siddaramaiah remarked.
In the meantime, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar received blessings from Naga sadhus at his Bengaluru residence on Monday. The sadhus conveyed to the media that they had blessed Shivakumar for his future role as Chief Minister. “I hail from Kashi. My name is Vedgiri Naga Baba. I am here to bestow my blessings,” one of them stated.
In Siddaramaiah’s birthplace of Mysuru, special prayers were conducted by supporters and Kannada organization members, hoping for Shivakumar's ascension to the Chief Minister position. Posters of Shivakumar were prominently displayed during these rituals.
