Is PM Modi Truly Spiritual While I Struggle to Understand Rahul Gandhi?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Coimbatore, Feb 16 (NationPress) Former Punjab Minister Navjot Kaur Sidhu on Monday expressed admiration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, describing him as 'very spiritual', while revealing her perplexity regarding the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi.
In an interview with IANS, Sidhu stated, “PM Narendra Modi embodies a deep spiritual essence that is evident in his persona. On the other hand, I find it hard to grasp Rahul Gandhi's approach, as he hasn't attained the level of treating everyone equally and engaging in open dialogues.”
She further remarked that LoP Gandhi still seemed to be under the influence of a family-centric approach.
“He appears to be bound by the Gandhi family mentality, often neglecting those who genuinely wish to guide him. If it takes him eight months to meet someone, I consider that inappropriate,” she added.
Sidhu emphasized that a leader must be approachable and receptive to sincere counsel.
“A leader should connect with everyone, particularly those providing honest and constructive feedback. If you choose not to accept that, then it's ultimately your decision,” she informed IANS.
Additionally, she recounted her experience attending the Mahashivratri celebrations at the Isha Foundation in Coimbatore, noting that it was profoundly different from experiencing it online.
“Previously, I would observe Shivratri through a laptop, which is not the same as being there in person. Coming as an empty vessel allows you to absorb something extraordinary and beautiful from Sadhguru,” she explained.
Across the nation, devotees gathered on Sunday to celebrate Mahashivratri with prayers, fasting, and all-night vigils. One of the largest celebrations took place at the Isha Foundation's Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore, where thousands congregated for a night filled with music, meditation, and devotion.
Among the notable attendees were actors Tamannaah Bhatia, Mouni Roy, and others, as the atmosphere buzzed with energy amid cultural performances and spiritual activities.
This year’s Mahashivratri celebration at the Isha Foundation was themed 'Ganga,' highlighting the spiritual, cultural, and ecological importance of the sacred river. The program included guided meditations led by Sadhguru and featured various live music and dance performances by renowned artists.
