Bhubaneswar, Jan 18 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Odisha, Mohan Charan Majhi, on Saturday referred to the visit of Singapore's President, Tharman Shanmugaratnam, as historic. He emphasized that this landmark visit marks a significant step towards realizing the vision of a 'Developed Odisha' by 2036, which will be the 100th anniversary of the state's establishment as a separate entity.
While addressing the media, the Chief Minister remarked, “The Singapore President’s visit to Odisha is a historic event in every regard. This visit stands as a critical milestone in our journey towards Odisha's development. It has established a robust foundation to help us achieve our goal of a 'Samruddh Odisha' (prosperous Odisha) by 2036.”
He added that the BJP government has crafted a comprehensive plan to tackle the challenges the state currently faces, ensuring a bright future for Odisha's 4.5 crore residents.
Additionally, the Chief Minister pointed out that various initiatives are underway to transform Odisha into a prosperous state by 2036 and a pivotal growth driver for Vikshit Bharat by 2047. He mentioned that his administration has actively invited global investors to contribute to Odisha's infrastructure development.
To further this aim, roadshows were conducted in Delhi and Mumbai. The Chief Minister and his team also traveled to Singapore where they engaged with leading industrial companies and held discussions with business leaders and ministers from the island nation.
During his trip, Chief Minister Majhi extended an invitation to Singapore's President to visit Odisha.
“It’s a great honor for me personally and for millions of Odias both in India and overseas that he honored our request with his remarkable visit to our beautiful state. This visit is expected to significantly enhance our relationship,” he expressed.
During President Shanmugaratnam's visit, the Odisha government initiated the signing of eight MoUs with various Singaporean agencies.
He asserted that these agreements will be vital for Odisha's advancement, bringing it on par with the world's leading nations.
“It’s a source of pride that IDCO will collaborate with Singaporean giant ‘SembCorp’ to establish a Multi-Product Industrial Park. This project will leverage cutting-edge technology, and our partnership with Singapore will ensure the sustainability of projects, enhancing their long-term viability. Moreover, IPICOL has forged a forward-thinking MoU with SembCorp to create a Green Shipping Corridor and a Green Hydrogen Plant,” he concluded.
