New Delhi, Sep 23 (NationPress) Responding to the initiative of Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, a unified team comprising Ministers, MLAs, Councillors, and BJP leaders, along with MCD teams, engaged in extensive cleanliness efforts across the circular Ring Road on Tuesday, as confirmed by an official report.
This large-scale Swachhta Abhiyan was implemented in synchronized segments along the Ring Road, with various leaders spearheading simultaneous drives to ensure comprehensive coverage of the entire area.
Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa headed the cleanliness efforts at Raja Garden’s Ring Road Chowk, while Transport Minister Dr Pankaj Kumar Singh took charge of the initiative in Dhaula Kuan.
In his remarks following the campaign, Dr Pankaj Kumar Singh stated, “The Sewa Pakhwada-2025 is being celebrated from September 17 to October 2 throughout Delhi, marking the birthday of our revered Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
“In line with this initiative, we are committed to maintaining cleanliness not just in central Delhi but also in the outskirts. Our Prime Minister inspires us with the essence of public service, advocating for a life that is clean, beautiful, and healthy. This is the driving force behind our cleanliness campaigns across the capital,” he elaborated.
Sirsa added, “Today, all of Delhi is on the streets for cleanliness — under the guidance of CM Rekha Gupta and in the spirit of Sewa Pakhwada, we are dedicated to cleaning the entire Ring Road.”
“Cleanliness is pivotal to realizing PM Modi’s vision of a Viksit Delhi. A developed Delhi will emerge only when its streets are clean and its citizens are healthy and secure; we have vowed to continue our efforts until this vision is achieved,” the Minister remarked.
During the outreach, the Minister engaged with residents and commuters, addressing concerns regarding waste collection frequency and dust control on main routes. He assured a prompt resolution through collaborative efforts with MCD, PWD, and market associations.
“This is public service in action — citizens and the government working hand in hand; our aim is to achieve a cleaner Ring Road every day, not solely during special campaigns,” he emphasized.
Earlier, Delhi BJP leaders initiated cleanliness drives at 71 strategic locations around flyovers, as part of the Delhi government's Sewa Pakhwada.
Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, along with BJP volunteers, local Public Works Department, and Municipal Corporation personnel, symbolically commenced a cleanliness drive at Rose Garden, the bus stop beneath the ITO flyover, and its adjacent areas.
Municipal Councillor Ramkishore Sharma and Northeast District BJP President U.K. Chaudhary also participated in the campaign.
Sachdeva remarked, "Enhancing the beauty of Delhi demands ongoing efforts; one-day campaigns are insufficient. Cleanliness must become a behavioral norm, and all citizens need to collaborate in this endeavor."
At another location, under the Safdarjung-Sarojini Nagar flyover, Delhi BJP media chief Praveen Shankar Kapoor, South Delhi district president Maya Bisht, Municipal Councillor Arun Bhati, along with other BJP volunteers, joined the cleanliness initiative.
