Lucknow, Aug 14 (NationPress) The Samajwadi Party (SP) has taken decisive action by expelling party MLA Pooja Pal for her commendation of Uttar Pradesh (UP) Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during an Assembly session, where she praised his zero-tolerance policy toward crime and the mafia.
In an official expulsion notice issued by SP National President Akhilesh Yadav, it was stated, “Your actions are deemed anti-party and represent a serious breach of discipline. Consequently, you are hereby expelled from the Samajwadi Party effective immediately. Additionally, you will be stripped of all party positions and will no longer partake in any party events or meetings.”
In the letter dated August 14 addressed to Pooja Pal, Yadav remarked, “Your involvement in anti-party activities persisted even after warnings, resulting in considerable damage to the party.”
Pooja Pal had earlier expressed her gratitude towards CM Adityanath for his zero-tolerance policy against organized crime, attributing her sense of justice to his efforts following the murder of her husband, former BSP MLA Raju Pal, who was killed by notorious gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed.
During an extensive discussion on the 'Vision Document 2047' in the Assembly, Pal articulated her thanks to the Chief Minister for addressing her plight, a concern that had been overlooked for years.
“I wish to bring attention to my situation. I lost my husband, a member of this esteemed House. His murder is well-known here, along with the identity of his killer. I want to express my appreciation to the Chief Minister, who recognized my anguish that others chose to ignore. He has genuinely worked to ensure that I obtained justice,” she stated.
Pal emphasized that numerous families in Prayagraj have endured similar tragedies yet found justice due to the Chief Minister's rigorous stance on crime.
“Countless women, like me, have suffered the loss of their 'sindoor', and many mothers have mourned their sons. I am grateful to the Chief Minister for bringing criminals like Atiq Ahmed to justice through his zero-tolerance policy,” she remarked.
She noted that Atiq Ahmed, the perpetrator of her husband's murder, has been effectively neutralized by the government's rigorous approach to crime.
“Today, not only Prayagraj but all of Uttar Pradesh looks to the Chief Minister with hope. People are aware that if any criminal or gangster threatens any mother, sister, or brother, they will face strict repercussions,” she concluded.
