Dissanayake's Message

In his post, the Sri Lankan President wrote: "Congratulations to Hon. C. Joseph Vijay on being sworn in as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Sri Lanka and Tamil Nadu are connected through history, culture, enterprise, and enduring people-to-people ties across generations." He added that the future holds "immense economic promise and opportunity" as the two neighbours continue to deepen their partnership, and that "the people of Sri Lanka" join him in wishing Vijay and Tamil Nadu "every success".

A Historic Swearing-In in Chennai

Vijay was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar at a grand ceremony held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai on Sunday.
