Srinagar, July 5 (NationPress) In its ongoing battle against terrorism, the Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Police in the Srinagar district announced on Saturday the attachment of property valued at Rs 1.5 crore under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA).
A police statement revealed, “In a significant action aimed at disrupting the terror infrastructure, Srinagar Police has seized a residential property — encompassing 8 marlas and 202 sq. ft. of land along with the associated building structure— estimated to hold a value of around Rs 1.5 crore.
“This property, situated in Mir Masjid Mohalla, Shallabagh Khanyar, and listed under Survey Nos. 3674/1147 and 3677/1148, is registered in the name of Mohammad Yousuf Shah, son of Hafiz Waliuallah Shah.
The police statement further added, “Currently, the property is in the possession of Masood Hussain Shah, son of Mohammad Yousuf Shah. This attachment has been conducted under the applicable provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) in relation to FIR No. 48/2024, which includes Sections 109 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 7/27 of the Indian Arms Act, and Sections 16, 18, 19, 20, and 39 of the UAP Act, filed at Police Station Khanyar.
“Investigations have confirmed that the property was procured using illegal funds associated with terrorist activities. Under Section 25 of the UAP Act, the immovable property has been duly seized and attached following legal processes.
“Through this attachment notice, the owner is barred from selling, leasing, or transferring the property in any form. This initiative is part of the ongoing strategy by Srinagar Police to systematically dismantle the terror ecosystem.
“By targeting and disrupting the financial networks of terrorist organizations, the Jammu & Kashmir Police seeks to mitigate actions that threaten the security and integrity of the nation. Srinagar Police reaffirms its steadfast dedication to eliminating terrorism and maintaining public order.”
