Ballari, Jan 24 (NationPress) Former minister B. Sriramulu, who recently expressed his intention to resign from the BJP, stated on Friday that party President J. P. Nadda called him and extended his support.

While addressing the media in Ballari, Sriramulu revealed that Union Health Minister Nadda reached out to him on Thursday, suggesting he address the issue "within the four walls".

He mentioned that the Union Minister invited him to Delhi for further discussions regarding the concerns.

This political situation arises shortly after remarks made by Karnataka in-charge Radha Mohan Das Agarwal against Sriramulu, prompting his offer to leave the party.

Regarding his comment about quitting, Sriramulu stated: "Credibility is crucial in politics, and it should not be compromised. I voiced my concerns as my self-respect was at stake. I will travel to New Delhi. All I seek from the party is respect for my contributions and to avoid humiliation."

Sriramulu further mentioned that he briefed Union Minister Nadda about the issues raised by Agarwal during the party's core committee meeting.

"Union Minister Nadda informed me that he is advocating for the interests of backward classes, and his concerns have been communicated to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah," Sriramulu stated.

He added, "Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, who also represents the state, contacted me and encouraged me to reach out to Nadda. Before I could do so, I received a call from him," Sriramulu claimed.

Sriramulu asserted that Union Minister Joshi indicated that Agarwal was willing to retract his comments.

He alleged that Agarwal insulted him during a recent state core committee meeting, accusing him of being responsible for the party's loss in the Sandur Assembly by-election.

Meanwhile, Minister for Agriculture N. Chaluvarayaswamy remarked in Mandya on Friday that if Sriramulu wishes to join the Congress, he would welcome him.

"Discussions within the party suggested that Sriramulu might join our ranks during the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. However, he ultimately chose to remain with the BJP," the Minister remarked.
