Chennai, March 19 (NationPress) The spokesperson for the Tamil Nadu BJP and senior party figure ANS Prasad has asserted that MDMK leader Vaiko's remarks in the Rajya Sabha, which allege collaboration between the Indian Coast Guard and the Sri Lankan Navy to intimidate Tamil Nadu fishermen, are nothing but a falsehood and a malicious endeavor to tarnish the reputation of the Indian Navy.
He noted that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin's DMK and Congress are complicit in Vaiko's disloyalty through their silence, adding that the partnership between Stalin and Vaiko represents a serious threat to India's sovereignty and national integrity.
Prasad claimed that Stalin has orchestrated this political drama to serve his agenda, jeopardizing national security and sowing discord among the populace. He contended that such actions amount to treason, and Vaiko should be held accountable.

The senior BJP leader expressed that the nation is outraged and appalled by Vaiko's false and derogatory comments made during a discussion on March 19, 2025. 'Vaiko's assertion that the Indian Navy is in collusion with the Sri Lankan Navy to harm Tamil Nadu fishermen is a serious accusation that undermines the armed forces, national unity, and poses a substantial threat to national security,' ANS Prasad declared.
He pointed out that as a member of the Rajya Sabha, Vaiko has disregarded the privileges of the House and has brought disrepute to the institution.
The Tamil Nadu BJP spokesperson emphasized that Vaiko’s statement clearly violates the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Rajya Sabha, which mandate that members uphold the dignity of the House and avoid making defamatory or discriminatory statements.
ANS Prasad accused Vaiko's comments of potentially fostering discontent among Indian citizens towards the Indian Army and the Government of India, as well as promoting animosity among different groups.
