Chennai, April 3 (NationPress) Tamil Nadu BJP Spokesperson A.N.S. Prasad has called upon Chief Minister M.K. Stalin to take decisive measures against DMK leader and former Union Minister A. Raja, accusing him of consistently making offensive remarks against Hinduism and its symbols.

Prasad asserted that Raja’s latest comments have perpetuated harm to the sentiments of Hindus and fostered communal and divisive politics within the state.

He claimed that the former minister has once again showcased his “hostile and fascist attitude” through statements that malign the image of Indian citizens who adhere to the Hindu faith.

Despite a broad outcry across Tamil Nadu, Prasad questioned the Chief Minister’s silence regarding Raja’s comments.

“Why is the Chief Minister not speaking out? Why hasn’t he made a strong condemnation to honor the sentiments of the people?” Prasad questioned.

The BJP representative also criticized Minister P.K. Sekarbabu, who manages the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Department, accusing him of protecting individuals who exploit the department’s resources and disrespect Hindu temples and traditions.

He rebuked Sekarbabu for labeling Raja’s comments as mere personal opinions, arguing it was a deliberate move to distract from the core issue.

Describing Raja’s remarks as “unconstitutional” and “offensive,” Prasad demanded that the DMK leader issue a public apology.

“As a Deputy General Secretary of the DMK and a sitting Member of Parliament, A. Raja must apologize for making statements that insult Hindu religious beliefs,” he stated.

He further inquired whether similar comments would be tolerated if directed towards other religions.

“If A. Raja made comparable derogatory remarks about the faiths of DMK’s Muslim or Christian members, would he still be able to walk freely in Tamil Nadu?” Prasad asked.

Highlighting the inclusive and tolerant essence of Hinduism, Prasad emphasized that the religion should not endure further testing through repeated provocations.
