Bengaluru, Jan 5 (NationPress) In light of recent violent incidents and criminal activities in Karnataka, the BJP has claimed that the present government is delivering a 'Goonda Raj' as its sixth guarantee to the citizens. As the New Year commenced, the state has been engulfed in the tumult and disorder synonymous with goonda raj.
The Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly, R. Ashoka, remarked in Bengaluru, "While Chief Minister Siddaramaiah aspires to set a record as the longest-serving Chief Minister and enjoys lavish celebrations, the state's law and order situation has significantly worsened, with the chaos of goonda raj emerging within just a week of the New Year."
He continued, "Notable incidents include an attempted murder of BJP MLA Janardhan Reddy in Ballari, the murder of a Hindu girl in Yellapur, and stone-pelting during a procession of Om Shakti devotees in Bengaluru, resulting in injuries to innocent women and children. These have all been reported in the past week."
R. Ashoka asserted, "Due to the appeasement politics practiced by the Congress government, the actions of anti-social elements have exceeded all boundaries. The majority community's religious practices are left unprotected, and ordinary citizens are deprived of their peace of mind."
The Karnataka BJP, via social media platform X, expressed, "The people of the state are troubled by uncertainties regarding whether Hindu religious practices are being curtailed under Congress governance."
They further stated, "From stone-pelting during Ganesh processions to attacks on devotees adorned with Hanuman mala and blockades against Navaratri processions, it is evident that Congress-protected 'minor elements' are engaging in such acts."
"Is the anti-Hindu Siddaramaiah government operating a stone-pelting department, compensating street hooligans through it?" questioned the BJP.
In response to the BJP's allegations, Home Minister G. Parameshwara stated, "BJP leaders have been consistently making statements and have not ceased their commentary. They are the first to intervene when such incidents happen. We have already initiated legal proceedings in the attack on Om Shakti devotees in Bengaluru, and the suspects are in custody. Furthermore, the BJP should clarify what additional actions they expect from us."
