Step Beyond Comfort Zones and Embrace Risks for a 'Viksit Bharat': PM Modi's Call to the Youth

New Delhi, Jan 12 (NationPress) Emphasizing the pivotal role of youth in sculpting the future of the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday encouraged them to break free from their comfort zones and accept risks to fulfill the vision of a 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047.

Speaking to 3,000 young leaders during the National Youth Day celebration, which honors the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, PM Modi remarked that while the objective of Viksit Bharat is monumental, it is certainly achievable, countering the skepticism of critics.

“With the combined efforts of millions of young individuals propelling progress, the nation will assuredly achieve its goals,” he stated.

PM Modi cautioned against complacency, urging the youth to venture out of their comfort zones.

"We must refrain from becoming too accustomed to our comfort zones. These zones can be perilous. Advancement necessitates taking risks and pushing limits. The youth engaged in this dialogue have already exemplified this by stepping outside their comfort zones to be here. This life philosophy will elevate you to new pinnacles of success," PM Modi expressed.

"Numerous leading global enterprises are currently managed by Indian youth. The world acknowledges the potential of our young people. We are in a 25-year golden phase, an Amrit Kaal, and I am entirely confident that the Yuva Shakti of India will transform our nation into a developed country," he asserted.

"Achieving significant objectives is not just the duty of government machinery; it requires the collective input of every citizen," PM Modi stated, stressing the importance of discourse, direction, and ownership in meeting national goals.

The Prime Minister noted that the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue represents this process, driven by the youth who took part in quizzes, essay contests, and presentations.

He praised the youth for their broad-minded approach and engagement in dialogues with experts, ministers, and policymakers.

PM Modi announced that the proposals and ideas stemming from the Young Leaders Dialogue will now inform national policies, guiding the nation's advancement.

He congratulated the youth and reiterated his commitment to integrating one lakh new young individuals into politics, motivating them to actively engage in executing their proposals.

PM Modi lauded the accomplishments of the younger generation over the past decade, stating: "In merely ten years, you have propelled India to rank among the top three startup ecosystems globally, advanced our manufacturing sector, popularized the Digital India initiative internationally, and made notable progress in sports. If India's youth can turn the impossible into possible, they will undoubtedly realize Viksit Bharat as a reality."

The Prime Minister reaffirmed the government's dedication to empowering the youth, highlighting initiatives to enhance educational infrastructure.

"A new university opens in India every week. A new ITI is established daily. Every third day, a new Atal Tinkering Lab is inaugurated. Moreover, two new colleges are created each day. Presently, there are 23 IITs in our country. In just one decade, the count of IIITs has surged from nine to 25, while IIMs have increased from 13 to 21. The number of AIIMS has tripled, and medical colleges have almost doubled," he mentioned.

He also noted the growing global acclaim for India's educational institutions.

Pointing out that India is now nearly a $4 trillion economy, the Prime Minister remarked that the current infrastructure budget exceeds Rs 11 lakh crore, almost six times greater than a decade ago, with more being allocated to railways alone than the entire infrastructure budget of 2014.

He observed that this increased budget is reflected in India's evolving landscape, with Bharat Mandapam serving as a beautiful illustration.

“India is swiftly progressing towards becoming a $5 trillion economy, which will significantly enhance development and facilities,” PM Modi stated.

Expressing confidence that by the close of the next decade, India will exceed the $10 trillion economy milestone, PM Modi affirmed that the younger generation will not only spearhead the most significant transformation in the nation’s history but will also be its greatest beneficiary.
