PM Modi to Participate in Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue Today

New Delhi, Jan 12 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to engage in the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2025 today at Bharat Mandapam as part of the National Youth Day festivities, which honor the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.
He will interact with 3,000 young leaders from all over the nation and will also deliver an address.
On X, PM Modi expressed that this day signifies a tribute to India’s youth power and holds special importance as it coincides with Swami Vivekananda's Jayanti.
"On this occasion, I will spend the entire day with my young friends at the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2025. Through discussions and lunch, we will explore various topics aimed at constructing a Viksit Bharat."
The objective of the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue is to transform the 25-year-old format of conducting the National Youth Festival. The initiative aligns with the Prime Minister’s Independence Day appeal to involve one lakh youth in politics without any political bias and to provide them a national platform to actualize their visions for a Viksit Bharat. On this National Youth Day, the Prime Minister will engage in numerous activities intended to inspire, motivate, and empower the future leaders of our nation.
A government press release indicated that innovative young leaders will present ten PowerPoint presentations addressing the ten thematic areas significant to India’s development before the Prime Minister. "These presentations showcase the innovative ideas and solutions proposed by young leaders to tackle some of India’s most urgent challenges."
The Prime Minister will also unveil a compilation of the finest essays produced by participants on ten themes, including technology, sustainability, women empowerment, manufacturing, and agriculture.
In a distinctive environment, the Prime Minister will dine with the young leaders, allowing them to share their ideas, experiences, and aspirations directly with him. This personal engagement will close the gap between governance and youth aspirations, enhancing a sense of ownership and responsibility among the participants.
The selection of 3,000 youths for the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue was executed via the Viksit Bharat Challenge, a well-structured, merit-based multi-level selection process to identify and highlight the most driven and dynamic young voices nationwide. This process involved three stages with participants aged between 15-29 years. The initial stage, the Viksit Bharat Quiz, was conducted in 12 languages to allow youth from all states to participate, seeing around 30 lakh young minds involved. Those who qualified progressed to the second stage, the essay round, where they expressed their ideas on ten vital themes, resulting in over two lakh essays submitted.
In the final stage, 25 candidates per theme advanced to compete in rigorous in-person contests. Each state selected its top three participants from each track, forming vibrant teams for the national event in Delhi. 1,500 participants from the Viksit Bharat Challenge Track, representing the top 500 teams from State Championships; 1,000 participants from the Traditional Track, chosen through state-level youth festivals, cultural programs, and science and technology innovation exhibits; and 500 Pathbreakers, invited for their groundbreaking contributions in various fields, will be part of the Dialogue, as stated by the government press release.
