Thanks to the swift and coordinated actions of law enforcement, all the stolen ornaments were successfully retrieved, including the deity's crown, necklace, and umbrella.
Upon completing the investigation, the court issued orders for the release of the sacred jewelry, which was subsequently handed over to the Shri Shri Maa Durga Temple Trust Committee.
Present at the handover were the temple's chief priest, administrator Amarendra Dubey, and trust committee member Om Prakash Rai. The transfer was meticulously executed according to established protocols, ensuring full transparency and security throughout the process.
After the official handover, SP Vinay Tiwari visited the temple to perform rituals and ceremonially present the recovered ornaments back to Goddess Durga.
The atmosphere was charged with devotion as devotees expressed their gratitude and commended the police for restoring their faith.
On this occasion, Vinay Tiwari remarked, “On the night of December 17/18, 2025, a theft occurred at the Thawe Durga Temple. All the ornaments have been recovered. Today, following court directives, the jewelry was returned to the temple committee through the investigator. As per procedure, the ornaments were reverently dedicated again to Goddess Durga.”
Members of the temple management committee conveyed their heartfelt thanks to both the police and the judiciary, emphasizing that the incident transcended mere property loss; it was fundamentally about faith.
They further stated that the efficient and prompt police response has significantly bolstered the trust of the devotees.
