Itanagar, Sep 6 (NationPress) The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lt. General K.T. Parnaik (Retd.), called upon students to embrace creative thinking, bold innovation, and focus on skill-based education, digital literacy, entrepreneurship, and problem-solving during a recent address.

Highlighting the significance of holistic development, the Governor emphasized that young individuals should remain educated, disciplined, and motivated, ensuring they maintain both physical and mental well-being.

Speaking at the 47th foundation day celebration of Dera Natung Government College in Itanagar, Lt. General Parnaik (Retd.) asserted that such initiatives would greatly contribute to the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

As we envision Viksit Bharat 2047, he urged the youth to align their personal aspirations with the broader national goals.

“When we progress as individuals, we fortify society. A progressive society leads to a thriving state, and a thriving state elevates our Nation,” he stated, urging everyone to advance with vision, determination, and collective effort, ensuring that the seeds of knowledge planted today flourish into a brighter future.

The Governor also invited the youth to engage with the ‘My Gov portal’ by sharing their ideas and suggestions.

He pointed out that such engagement not only bolsters the nation-building process but also creates a unique opportunity to interact directly with the Prime Minister of India.

He praised Dera Natung Government College for nurturing leaders, professionals, thinkers, and change-makers who have enhanced the community's fabric.

Founded in 1979, Dera Natung Government College, Itanagar, was previously known as Government Degree College, Itanagar, and was renamed in 2001 in memory of the then Education Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Dera Natung.

Tragically, Natung lost his life in a helicopter accident in 2001.

Currently, the percentage of girl enrollment at the college is 51.33%, while boy enrollment stands at 48.67%.

Moreover, the college boasts a remarkable 91% enrollment rate of tribal students.
