Subodh Kumar Singh Takes Office as Principal Secretary to Chhattisgarh Chief Minister

Raipur, Dec 20 (NationPress) Subodh Kumar Singh, a distinguished IAS officer of the 1997 batch, has been designated as the Principal Secretary (PS) to the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Vishnu Deo Sai. This appointment follows his recent return from a central deputation.
Singh has previously held the position of District Collector in multiple districts across the state, including Raipur.
Prior to this, he was an Additional Secretary and Financial Advisor within the Ministry of Steel at the central government level. At the request of the state government, he has returned to Chhattisgarh, which is his parent cadre, to assume the crucial role of Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister.
An official notification has been issued by the General Administration Department of the Government of Chhattisgarh, officially assigning Subodh Kumar Singh the vital position of PS to the Chief Minister. His leadership is anticipated to enhance the effectiveness of the state administration.
Singh’s extensive experience and knowledge are expected to notably fortify the Chief Minister’s office, and his appointment has received a warm reception across various sectors within the state.
During Dr. Raman Singh's administration in Chhattisgarh, Subodh Kumar Singh contributed significantly at the Chief Secretariat in Raipur and managed several important departments, playing a pivotal role in the state government's administrative framework.
He is an Electrical Engineering graduate from IIT Roorkee and possesses a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the same institution, along with a Master’s degree in Business Administration from IGNOU.
Reports indicate that Singh had previously met with the Chief Secretary to finalize his joining. Speculation regarding his appointment as the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister has been prevalent since then. It is believed that CM Sai personally advocated with the central government to facilitate Singh's return to Chhattisgarh.
