New Delhi, July 11 (NationPress) In a remarkable advancement for India's defence self-sufficiency, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) along with the Indian Air Force (IAF), successfully executed a flight test of the ASTRA, a Beyond Visual Range Air-to-Air Missile (BVRAAM), on Friday. This test took place off the coast of Odisha and featured an indigenous radio frequency seeker, as reported by officials from the Ministry of Defence.
The Ministry of Defence stated that two missile launches were performed against high-speed unmanned aerial targets, under a variety of conditions related to range, target aspects, and launch platforms.
In both scenarios, the Astra missiles accurately intercepted and obliterated the targets, confirming the system's effectiveness.
The indigenous radio frequency seeker, developed by the DRDO, exhibited outstanding performance alongside all other missile subsystems.
