Jaipur, Nov 27 (NationPress) Security agencies have heightened monitoring measures along critical sections of the Indo-Pak border in Rajasthan's Barmer district after the apprehension of a Pakistani youth who was found concealed in a cowshed, according to officials on Thursday.
The individual had crossed the Indo-Pak boundary under the cover of night and was detained by Border Security Force (BSF) personnel after local villagers reported his suspicious presence in a cowshed in Barmer district on Wednesday night.
Barmer SP Narendra Singh Meena reported that the intruder identified himself as Hindal (24), son of Barsa, a resident of Nayatala village in Chhachro tehsil of Mithi district, Pakistan. He was discovered hiding in a cowshed at Jat Ke Bera, located merely 200 meters from the international boundary.
Villagers noticed the young man acting suspiciously and promptly alerted the BSF. Security personnel and police units quickly descended on the area and successfully apprehended him. No incriminating items were found in his possession. Following initial questioning, he was transferred to the Sedwa police station for further investigation.
Authorities are currently investigating the precise location of the intrusion. They are analyzing his footprints and the suspected route taken to breach the barbed-wire fencing to ascertain which border pillar he may have used and to address similar vulnerabilities moving forward.
This incident is not isolated; approximately six weeks ago, a Pakistani man and his 7-year-old son were intercepted at Zero Point while trying to breach Indian borders. Investigative efforts revealed that some of his family members reside in India, leading to suspicions that he aimed to reunite with them.
The recent apprehension occurs during a period of increased espionage concerns in Rajasthan's border districts, with multiple arrests made in the last six months for alleged spying on behalf of Pakistani intelligence.
On March 26, intelligence operatives arrested Pathan Khan, a local resident near the Chandan Field Firing Range, under the Official Secrets Act.
On May 28, Shakur Khan, a former aide to ex-Congress minister Saleh Mohammad, was detained, later arrested on June 3 for purportedly conveying sensitive information to Pakistan.
On August 4, Mahendra Prasad, a manager at a DRDO guest house in Jaisalmer, was apprehended for relaying Army intelligence to a Pakistani handler.
On August 20, investigators arrested Jeevan Khan (25) in Jaisalmer after uncovering multiple Pakistani contacts and suspicious communications on his phone.
Most recently, on September 25, Hanif Khan was detained for allegedly providing sensitive Army-related intelligence to Pakistan's ISI.
