Dublin/New Delhi, June 24 (NationPress) BJP General Secretary Tarun Chugh, while commemorating the victims of the Kanisha tragedy on the 40th anniversary of the most devastating terror act in aviation history, engaged with the Indian community at the Embassy of India in Dublin on Tuesday. He reaffirmed India’s zero tolerance policy on terrorism.
Chugh passionately called for a collective effort against terrorism, emphasizing the necessity for the world to safeguard innocent lives from the sinister motives of terror organizations.
The BJP leader pointed out that the Kanishka bombing was not merely an assault on India, but on the very essence of humanity. He reiterated that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India has taken significant, assertive measures to combat terrorism and has emerged as a prominent advocate on international anti-terror platforms.
Referencing Operation Sindoor, Chugh noted it was a Pakistan ISI-backed initiative aimed at undermining the peaceful and progressive environment fostered by the Modi administration.
“Such malicious endeavors to destabilize India will always be thwarted by the determination of our populace and the strength of our leadership,” he asserted.
The engagement with the Indian diaspora, including members from the Friends of Overseas BJP Ireland, also featured discussions on the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ and the role of overseas Indians in shaping the future of the nation.
Chugh further remarked that India has ascended to become the world's fourth-largest economy and is rapidly advancing in sectors such as manufacturing, services, and exports.
“This advancement has been facilitated not only by those residing in India but also by the contributions of our dynamic global diaspora,” he acknowledged.
He asserted that Prime Minister Modi’s foreign policy has enhanced India’s global reputation and ensured respect for every Indian citizen abroad. The active involvement of India in international forums reflects its rising stature as a decisive, development-oriented power.
He urged members of the diaspora to act as cultural ambassadors for India, sharing the pride of the nation’s achievements with younger generations around the globe.
