Patna, Feb 27 (NationPress) A teacher from Kendriya Vidyalaya in Jehanabad, Bihar was suspended on Wednesday after her offensive comments about the state gained traction on social media.

The teacher, identified as Deepali, expressed her dissatisfaction regarding her placement in Jehanabad.

In her widely circulated video, she stated that she would accept any location in the country, except Bihar.

She expressed a preference for West Bengal, South Indian states, Himachal Pradesh, Goa, or Ladakh over Bihar.

Her derogatory remarks about the state and its citizens sparked significant outrage.

The district administration of Jehanabad acted promptly on Wednesday.

The Deputy Commissioner of the Central School Organisation, Patna, invoked Section 10 of the 1965 Central Civil Services Act to suspend her immediately.

During her suspension, she has been ordered to report to the Central School headquarters in Masrakh block of Saran district.

Additionally, she is prohibited from leaving the headquarters without the principal's permission.

The principal of Jehanabad school distanced himself from the incident, labeling it as her personal issue.

Local residents and officials have condemned her disrespectful remarks.

This incident stirred significant conversation in the district, emphasizing the repercussions of social media misconduct.

Authorities have highlighted the necessity for professionalism and respect in public service positions.

The situation surrounding the Kendriya Vidyalaya teacher's disparaging comments about Bihar has escalated, with political figures demanding more severe consequences.

Previously, Samastipur MP Shambhavi Choudhary reached out to the Commissioner of Kendriya Vidyalaya, advocating for strict measures.

She shared on X that the teacher had been suspended without delay and expressed gratitude to the Central School administration for their swift response.

She described the teacher's language regarding Bihar as unacceptable.

Rahul Sharma, a former MLA, has taken a firmer stance, writing to the Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, requesting her permanent removal.

Sharma stated, "These individuals are spreading distortions in society, which could harm our children's future. Strict measures are necessary to ensure such individuals do not remain in teaching positions."

The incident has ignited outrage throughout Bihar, with many advocating for more robust disciplinary actions beyond mere suspension.

The Bihar administration and Kendriya Vidyalaya officials now face pressure to consider termination rather than just a temporary suspension.
