Hyderabad, March 27 (NationPress) A worker who was pulled from the wreckage of a collapsed under-construction building in Bhadrachalam has died while receiving treatment at the hospital. Meanwhile, efforts are ongoing to locate another worker who remains trapped beneath the debris as of Thursday.
The structure, comprising five stories above the ground in Bhadradri Kothagudem district, collapsed on Wednesday afternoon, entrapping two construction workers.
Rescue teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) successfully extracted a worker named Kameshwar Rao around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday. He was taken to the Government Area Hospital, where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
This tragic incident led to protests by his family members, who engaged in tense exchanges with police and civil officials. The demonstrators blocked the official vehicle of District Collector Jitesh V Patil, demanding justice for the deceased worker's family.
Authorities have reported that another worker, Padishala Upender Rao, is still trapped under the rubble, and his anxious family members and relatives are fervently praying for his rescue.
The building at Super Bazaar Centre, where the incident occurred, collapsed due to suspected structural faults and unauthorized construction.
Rescue operations were initiated by police, fire services, and other relevant departments, with the NDRF team later joining in.
District Collector Jitesh Patil, Superintendent of Police B. Rohith Raju, and other senior officials were present to oversee the rescue efforts.

The builder has reportedly surrendered to police following the incident.
