Hyderabad, Feb 13 (NationPress) Telangana's Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy expressed on Friday that the results of the municipal elections in the state signify a strong endorsement of the Congress party's governance over the past two years.
He remarked that the electorate, through this mandate, has displayed their complete confidence in the performance of the ‘people's government’, particularly focusing on the welfare initiatives for the poor and middle-class segments, as well as the development strategies being executed with top-tier plans and initiatives.
In a message shared on X, the Chief Minister extended his gratitude to the populace for the resounding victory of the Congress party in the elections conducted across 116 municipalities and seven municipal corporations throughout the state.
“This triumph is a result of the relentless efforts of countless Congress supporters. It stands as a tribute to their unwavering loyalty towards the party. This victory is dedicated to every individual who proudly represented the party and brought government initiatives to the citizens,” stated the Chief Minister.
“This achievement amplifies our responsibilities. We reaffirm our commitment to the state's development, the welfare of its citizens, and to transparent governance,” he further added.
The Chief Minister assured that the government is dedicated to the advancement of every municipality and municipal corporation, aiming to uphold the trust placed in them by the people.
Earlier, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi reached out to the Chief Minister, who was in Delhi at the time.
According to the Chief Minister’s Office, after the municipal election results showcased a significant victory for Congress across Telangana, senior leader Priyanka Gandhi met with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to congratulate him and extend her best wishes to all party leaders, activists, and workers in the region.
CM Revanth Reddy briefed Priyanka Gandhi on recent developments, reforms, policies, significant investments, and the progress concerning the delivery of welfare schemes.
The municipal election outcomes reveal that Congress has secured dominance in 64 out of 116 municipalities and three out of seven corporations, with the party leading in another corporation as well.
The ruling party is also striving to gain control of 38 additional municipalities where no decisive winner has been determined.
