Hyderabad, Sep 7 (AINS) Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy conveyed his happiness that the Ganesh immersion festivities throughout Telangana, especially in Hyderabad, wrapped up without any disturbances.
For nine days, devotees honored Lord Ganesh with profound reverence and said their final goodbyes in a grand manner.
The Chief Minister praised the relentless contributions of personnel from various departments, including Police, Revenue, Electricity, Transport, Municipal, Panchayat Raj, Sanitation, and other sectors, along with festival committee members, pandal organizers, crane operators, and devotees, for their roles in ensuring that the nine-day festivities and processions were carried out with sincerity and without any incidents.
He also commended the residents of Hyderabad for their support in the smooth and organized immersion of lakhs of idols at Hussain Sagar and other designated sites, adhering to the scheduled timelines.
On Saturday, the Chief Minister visited Rank Bund to assess the Ganesh immersion preparations at Hussain Sagar Lake, located in the city center.
The immersion of idols persisted in Hussain Sagar for a second day on Sunday, with idols from various areas of the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad and nearby regions still being transported to the lake for immersion.
This process is expected to continue until Sunday evening.
Traffic restrictions were enforced until Sunday morning on routes surrounding Hussain Sagar to ensure the smooth execution of the immersion, but were lifted later by the police.
Over 12,000 idols were immersed in Hussain Sagar since Saturday morning, with a total of 2.61 lakh idols immersed in the lakes within the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits in recent days.
Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand stated that the immersion proceeded peacefully, adding that nine drones were utilized as part of the security measures.
He acknowledged the dedication of police officers, who worked tirelessly for two consecutive days, and congratulated the police force.
