Jammu, June 16 (NationPress) The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, emphasized on Monday that any terrorist act within the state will be considered an act of war. He made this statement during the graduation ceremony of Jammu and Kashmir police officers, asserting that India has conveyed a robust message to Pakistan and its affiliated terrorists.
He remarked, "We have imparted a significant lesson to them."
“Our foremost objective is the absolute elimination of terrorism from the lands of Jammu and Kashmir. Our courageous warriors in the J&K Police should embrace a multifaceted strategy, leveraging intelligence, community engagement, and technology,” he stated.
The Lieutenant Governor urged local police to adopt innovative strategies to bolster their capabilities in combating disinformation and cross-border cyber threats.
While overseeing the graduation ceremony for probationary deputy superintendents of police (DySPs) and probationary sub-inspectors (PSIs) at the Udhampur Police Academy, L-G Sinha expressed his best wishes, stating, “I wish all the police officers good fortune in their future missions.”
During his speech, L-G Sinha acknowledged the critical role of the J&K Police, saying, “Operating under extremely challenging conditions, J&K Police plays a significant role in the nation’s internal security, safeguarding the integrity of the country and the safety of the citizens within the Union Territory.”
He praised the officers for their steadfast dedication to securing the region.
L-G Joshi also noted the increasing significance of technology in improving security operations.
“Modern technology, including AI tools, has transformed the security landscape. The issues of disinformation and deep fakes pose major challenges. The J&K Police must utilize innovative tools to bolster their capabilities in addressing disinformation and managing cross-border cyber threats. I take pride in our brave personnel and officers of JKP. The nation admires our police force for their professional competence, effective handling of diverse security challenges, and relentless fight against terrorism,” he stated.
He emphasized that our ancient values rooted in truth, justice, morality, law, and good governance must be preserved and nurtured by the J&K Police. “The courageous personnel must safeguard society in every way possible to ensure peace, development, and stability,” he added.
A total of 49 DySPs and 1,112 PSIs graduated at the ceremony and will now undergo practical training before being assigned regular duties.
