Chennai, Feb 5 (NationPress) In a significant initiative to enhance industrial expansion and job creation, the Tamil Nadu Cabinet has officially sanctioned 15 substantial investment proposals totaling Rs 34,237.39 crore.

The resolutions were made during a Cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin at the State Secretariat in Chennai.

Industries Minister T.R.B. Rajaa, speaking to the media post-meeting, indicated that these projects would be distributed across several districts, including Chengalpattu, Chennai, Kancheepuram, Karur, Krishnagiri, Perambalur, Namakkal, Ramanathapuram, Ranipet, Thoothukudi, Tiruchi, Tiruppur, Tiruvallur, and Tiruvannamalai.

Collectively, these investments are forecasted to generate job opportunities for approximately 55,000 individuals.

The Minister mentioned that further details regarding one of the largest approved projects will be revealed on February 13, with additional industrial announcements anticipated at the State’s ‘Conversion Conclave’ slated for February 12.

Key proposals include investments from Kaynes Circuit Limited for printed circuit boards and camera modules, alongside Johnson Electric for BLDC and power cooling motors.

A notable enhancement to the footwear industry will arise from Evervan Kothari Footwear Limited, which is projected to create around 25,000 jobs.

Rajaa also highlighted that the globally recognized Adidas brand will commence manufacturing in Tamil Nadu through this initiative.

The Cabinet further endorsed projects aimed at bolstering the State’s blue economy.

In this regard, Chennai Radha Engineering will initiate the manufacturing of ship hulls, paving new pathways for the fishing and maritime sectors.

In the automotive and clean energy sectors, proposals from Yazaki India for auto components, a growth initiative by Hyundai, and Gensol’s solar cell manufacturing project received approval.

To further bolster the state's automotive aspirations, Chief Minister Stalin and Tata Group Chairman N. Chandrasekaran are set to inaugurate a new car manufacturing facility in Ranipet on February 9.

Underlining Tamil Nadu’s rising significance in the electric vehicle and luxury car sectors, Rajaa stated that the forthcoming Rs 9,000 crore Jaguar Land Rover and Tata Motors plant will be India’s first dedicated facility for producing JLR’s luxury models.
